Fayetteville's Country Christmas - Fayetteville rings in the holiday spirit on the second Saturday in December with a fun-filled day of events known as "Country Christmas." Santa, arts and crafts, music, a home-decorating contest, a pet costume photos with Santa, and a "peek" into Fayetteville's architecture with a Homes Tour are all in the making to celebrate the Country Christmas in Fayetteville on the historic Square. Pictures with Santa will take place at the Country Place Hotel. Visitors will enjoy the music on the square while sipping the hot chocolate and tasting baked goods that will be available to all. Wagon rides take the curious around town. Restaurants will be open late to accommodate everyone. Also during Country Christmas, Fayetteville National Honor Society students provide an evening of fun and learning about Fayetteville's history with "A Night at the Museum" located at the Fayetteville Area Heritage Museum on the Square. Free will donations will be accepted to help support the National Honor Society and the Fayetteville Area Heritage Museum. You never know what surprises may be revealed. The flooring from an old warehouse in the Houston area. French chandeliers bathe the room in a soft glow that adds to the overall ambiance. A New French Inn - This charming 1880's home with a European flair is located just off the square in historic Fayetteville, Texas. The inn, which is on the Registry of Historic places, offers 3 suites each with a private bath and sitting area. The Baca Suite sleeps 2 in a queen sized bed and reflects the history of the Czechoslovakian music in Texas through the memorabilia of the Baca Band, an internationally known music group of Czech heritage. This two-day bicycle ride from Houston to Austin, is held the third weekend in April and raises over $15,000,000 to support the programs of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dancing Light Fused Glass Studio and Gallery - Donna and John Sarafis have moved Dancing Light Fused Glass Studio to Fayetteville this year and opened a glass gallery for their original art glass and some of their students' works also. They have workshops in their studio as well as teach in other studios such as Seattle Stained Glass, Seattle, WA, Hot Glass Houston, Tomball, TX, The Orchid Tree Gallery, Round Top, TX, and Delphi Glass, Lansing, MI. Donna's work has been shown in galleries throughout Texas including Gallery on the Square, Wimberly, Hanson Galleries, Houston, Clarksville Pottery, Austin, and the Texas Visual Arts Gallery, Dallas. Quixote Longhorns

Quixote Longhorns - Longhorn cattle, the full-blooded Texas breed, are descended from Spanish cattle who came here with the first Spanish settlers in the mid 1500s. Possessing survival traits such as its awesome horns and ability to eat just about anything, the pure Texas Longhorn was a breed that came close to extinction due to crossbreeding with other species of cattle. By 1920, the true longhorn had begun to disappear. A special Congressional appropriation made funds available for two U.S. Forest Service employees, Will C. Barns and John Hatton, to set forth on a 5,000-mile search for typical animals. The Bugle Boy

The Bugle Boy is an intimate concert hall housed in a World War II army barracks located in La Grange, Texas. Since doors opened in January of 2005, The Bugle Boy has rapidly become one of the premier listening rooms in the country. Artists receive the undivided attention of the audience, and the audience gets a live music experience to remember. The focus is on original, independent singer/songwriters, who perform folk, blues, rock, jazz, swing and everything in between. Water Tower

Water Tower - Visible southeast of the Square, the water tower-called the "Tin Man's head" and located behind the post office on S. Scott and E. Main (Hwy 159)-dates from the 1920s and is one of the best examples of its kind. It was repaired and repainted in 2006, earning Fayetteville the "Class A" rating from the Water Tower Appreciation Society.

Fayetteville Area Heritage Museum - History of the Fayetteville Area is on display at the Fayetteville Area Heritage Museum. The Museum is the home of the Teddy Schultz Model Trains and Railroad Collection and many other artifacts of the good ol' days including the historic altar from the original St. John's Catholic Church (removed for rebuilding in 1969), the pipe organ from St. Mary's Catholic Church, pre-historic bones & arrowheads, a cotton gin, the Dawn Theater's movie projector, a fire engine pump, farm equipment and even a restored 1965 Chevy Bellaire. Memorabilia from the Baca Band is also displayed as well as that from numerous local schools, civic organizations, elected officials, etc. Located on the Square of Historic Fayetteville. Open by appointment-Tours Welcome. Always open 3rd weekend of October during Lickskillet Weekend and by appointment.
